XX Network Broadcasts Quantum Threat Discussion with Mark Hewitt

On the 20th March 2025, The XX Network, chaired by Darren Moore and represented by Aaron Welwood and Rick Carback sat with Mark Hewitt to discuss the Quantum threat on X.

The discussion with Mark focused on the quantum threat to cryptocurrencies and blockchain security. Mark highlighted the rapid advancements in quantum computing, noting D-Wave’s claim of quantum supremacy and IonQ’s similar claims and the fact that he’d seen with his own eyes some bitcoin hardware being cracked in minutes using quantum technology. The panel discussed the exponential growth in qubit numbers and the vulnerabilities in current cryptographic systems. The conversation also touched on the potential of tokenisation and the shift from traditional fiat currencies to asset-backed digital currencies which introduce new forms of fungibility without the need for traditional liquidity.

Mark is the founder of “Regenerative Economics” and the MicroCity Model. He serves as Director of a private holding company focused on sustainable industry and community partnerships. Notably, his cradle-to-cradle vision contributed to the sustainable utility design for Babcock Ranch, the nation’s first all-solar city.

Mark introduced the “Tribernachi Sequence” a novel mathematical framework extending the traditional Fibonacci sequence by summing the three preceding terms instead of two. This sequence is rooted in the geometric properties of the 3–4–5 right triangle, proposing it as a fundamental unit of space-time. Hewitt’s work suggests that this approach could offer new insights into quantum physics, computational theory, and the nature of reality. His forthcoming book, “Beyond Infinity: The Story of Tribernachi Math,” aims to delve deeper into these concepts and their implications.
