Yes. Not only is he the original founder, he constantly reiterates his commitment to furthering the XX Network. See his face on the XX Foundation’s Directory page. He often partakes in conferences, public XX Foundation/Community meetings and Twitter/X spaces and talks to various teams directly, but as the project matures there is no need for him to be at the centre of everything all the time.
A lot of the time, people ask this question because they notice David has talked about a different project. The fact is he has a whole lot of interests – for example, Astrocool is a project from 2023 that looks to reduce global warming. On closer inspection of that project though, there is scope for global referenda which would require a voting system with privacy baked in. There so happens to be a well established scalable voting system called VoteXX which would incorporate the cMixx network, which in turn would necessitate the purchase of postage, through native XX Coin. In fact, recent information released by Mário Yaksetig (David’s right-hand-man in many research papers) about XX Network research has a ‘real world election pilot’ forthcoming, so watch this space!
Another example is Project Tourbillon which was a trial of a privacy centric CBDC with the Swiss National Bank and the Bank for International Settlements. Within the design of that currency (dubbed ‘eCash 2.0‘) there is a mix network, and David has specifically said it uses XX’s on numerous occasions and at 24:30 in this video. If such a design were to be adopted by a nation state, then it would be them needing to procure postage, which means buying XX Coin for mix network usage.
eCash 2.0 also forms the basis of another of David’s Projects called Better Than Money, which takes advantage of cMixx (and a proposed update, cMixx+).
Essentially little hints are everywhere that the XX Network ties into a lot of things in David’s world, and he is leading from the front for those use cases.
