This is asked frequently because it often feels like XX Coin lacks exposure through the simple fact it doesn’t appear on crypto traders’ radars, being listed on a handful of Tier 2 exchanges. MEXC, currently the most used exchange, serves a purpose to at least keep the coin fungible but exposure to a Tier 1 exchange’s volume is something we all hoped for from the start and continue to do so, if not only to allow for proper price discovery.
At this point (Q2 2024) there are a plethora of reasons why XX hasn’t ended up on a Tier 1 exchange yet, 18 months on from its initial listing. The Foundation cite not only prohibitive listing fees, but requirements for vast liquidity through market makers and the fact the process is incredibly opaque, frustrating and riddled with pitfalls. Two Tier 1 exchanges outright denied the Foundation an XX listing recently for spurious reasons after exhaustive application processes and vetting.
That said, it was stated that the aim for at least another exchange would be in Q2 of 2024, confirmed by conversations on publication of the Q2 roadmap. I believe LBank is that exchange which has recently gone live. As for others, Biconomy and Coinstore are now trading Wrapped XX (WXX). Both have also now listed the native coin (XX).
At the same time, work is underway thanks to the award of an XX Coin grant to provide the technical implementation of bridges to allow bridging on and off DEX platforms such as Uniswap and PancakeSwap, which in themselves may catalyse the process of achieving a Tier 1 CEX listing through sheer exposure. The WXX Coin is already traded on Uniswap, with more to follow, even before the bridge has been deployed, either way. News events of projects/investments/partnerships or just a decent uptick in the trading volume and price may also bring about this sort of thing quicker.
Exchanges are free to list the coin at any time either way, and if they already list any Substrate based coins like Polkadot, or ERC20 tokens, then adapting that to XX is fairly straightforward. Refer to the official XX Coin Exchange Integration info for the native coin, or see the ETH contract for the WXX token.
