A Glimpse of Current XX Network Research

Cryptographer and developer Mário Yaksetig posted a tantalising image to the Telegram group on December 15th, 2023 showing the ‘current pipeline’ of research internally:

“I wanted to give everyone an update regarding what’s in the ongoing Research pipeline.

As a curiosity, I’d like to hear from you (the community) what you think the priorities should be!

Note: This is from the research department and ongoing protocol/feature design. The obvious things (Echoexx, etc) that are missing here fall within the engineering side of things and are not in this scope.

Also, as usual, I’m happy to answer any questions regarding specific protocols!”

Some key terms within the diagram which at least I can be sure of –

  • xxBFT is the XX proposed consensus model update, recently given the name Phoenixx.
  • PQ is Post-Quantum Cryptography.
  • VoteXX is a long established and tested system for mass scale voting.
  • Sleeve is currently the name for the XX quantum-safe wallet key-pair generating tool but looks to be growing, perhaps to be more inclusive of some of the other privacy networks in the crypto space.
  • As for “Burger Key-ing” 🤪, I guess we’ll find out what that means in time!

As soon as further info is available, I’ll publish it. The iterations of eCash and what sounds like a management tool for CBDCs sound interesting – along with the real world election pilot, one presumes all running over cMixx for network privacy.

It’s also interesting given recent news about governments using notifications to spy on people that this is apparently a cMixx priority. The XX Messenger introduced decoy messages to help thwart similar activity.
