XX Hackathon in Delhi, India on March 16-17th

XX Council and Community Leader FlowerTree organised a hackathon which took place at the Bhagwan Parshuram Institute of Technology in Delhi on 16-17th March.

Developers were invited to get their brains into gear at in this in-person event hosted as part of Hackhazards and in the process, put together solutions which use XX Network technology in the following themed areas:

FinTech
EdTech
HealthCare
E-Governance
Environment
Security

The hackathon lasted 24 hours.

Prizes were given to the best solutions, with first, second and third prize receiving 1250XX, 750XX and 500XX respectively. Runners up received 50XX and some XX branded goodies – now the envy of the community!

XX Network was a power partner/sponsor at the event. The hackathon teams were assisted in the event by FlowerTree, along with his colleagues Vipul and Sidhant.

Rick Carback, an XX developer, presented a webinar to around 90 students in preparation with a thorough demonstration of how to use the xxDK and various suggested use cases for the event. He also engaged the students in a challenge using the xxDK which they all passed ahead of time, receiving some XX Coins as a reward. At the event itself, Rick also made a keynote speech about the erosion of privacy.

After a long all-night stint with light pouring in through the curtains, one or two participants seemingly took a quick nap in between coding stints! Sidhant posted this video:

He also wrote, after the event:

“Throughout the event we observed incredible innovation and implementation amongst the budding developers which led us to select 11 teams to be rewarded for their wondrous effort, with XX Network motivating them to pursue their ideas and continue building.”

Rick Carback reviewed the submissions from the event and outlined each of the top 3 team’s ideas they worked on:

“The top team was ‘Clash of Codes’ – setting up communication between blood donor and blood recipient through CrimsonConnect – revolutionizes blood donation with map-based matching, real-time alerts, a user-friendly interface, blood report verification and seamless blood bank integration.

#2 was ‘Tech Squad’, who intended to use the XX Network to Broadcast their transactions. They were building Citadel, a secure crypto wallet designed to combat financial fraud.

#3 was ‘Valorous_Coders’ who wanted to use the XX Network as a Proxy.”

In the time allotted, none of the teams produced a completely working app but in many cases were very close to achieving integration targets and/or made extensive plans to do so.
