David Chaum Spoke at PlasmaCon in Tokyo on July 31st

David spoke along with key figures in the Ethereum ecosystem at this conference at the United Nations University in Tokyo on July 31st.

Plasma is a proposed scaling solution for Ethereum first discussed over 6 years ago which made a resurgence after Vitalik Buterin wrote about the future in his recent blog post “Exit games for EVM validiums: the return of Plasma.”

David has extensive experience both historically and within the XX Network in scaling both blockchains and privacy solutions and provided valuable insights to add to the discussion.

Vitalik Buterin was present at the conference and on the same panel as David as they discussed the challenges ahead, reiterating the fact that privacy is normal and should be a major consideration in any future where blockchain/web3 and especially AI plays a part. David also had his own keynote speech shortly before.

In David’s talks both in the keynote and panel, he mentioned the work of the XX Network several times, including its use in other systems such as the privacy-focused CBDC Tourbillon trialled last year with the Bank for International Settlements.

The XX Network’s cMixx privacy-shielding mix network is currently capable of over 3,000 messages (or transactions) per second. It is a blockchain agnostic and linearly scalable system.

The conference was organised by INTMAX, a stateless layer 2 Ethereum zkRollup and was limited to just 400 attendees.
