As announced on the XX Forums on 16th October 2024, developer Rick Carback introduced bounties for development work to be carried out as part of Hacktoberfest 2024, mostly around the newly revitalised Haven private group messenger platform, which is fast becoming a flagship application for the XX Network’s mix network, cMixx.
Funded by the XX Network’s council, the frenetic couple of weeks into the first week of November saw two main contributors take part, developers who have otherwise stayed relatively in the background until now. Encouraging new and existing talent to step forward was the goal and it certainly succeeded here, with two further developers reaching out with commitments for the future.
Below is a summary of the results, where 230,000 XX in total has been awarded in six projects. Congratulations to both ArmchairAncap and Dadatuputi!
As a side note, Rick commented that there is also now preliminary work commencing on an iOS Haven App, supported by the Foundation.
Haven is taking over where the old Speakeasy platform left off and can be tried out at https://haven.xx.network/.
Further bounties are already being announced for ongoing work in Haven and the wider XX Network ecosystem, with the first one attracting a 1,000,000 XX award for an xxDK C library.
