XX Community AMAs Part 1 – Full Meeting Audio and Transcript

On 26th November 2023, at 14:00 UTC, members of the XX Foundation along with David Chaum, Jim Dolbear and members of the Turkish XX Community gathered in the Turkish XX Telegram Group to discuss the project and answer some questions from the Community.

The discussion took place over more than two hours and covered various topics. Key points were:

  • David Chaum discussing in-depth progress within his projects, including the eCash 2.0 CBDC and “Better than Money” systems – and how the XX Network’s cMixx (and cMixx+) are pivotal to the provision of privacy within them, also confirming the XX Network’s live use within the CBDC trials.
  • Concerning cMix(x+), Jim provided clarification as to the state of Intellectual Property, should an entity want to use the design without using the XX Network.
  • Relevant questions about the slow pace of marketing of late, with promises that this is about to change, plus David’s continued and strengthening commitment to support the network.
  • News of an op-ed to come out in a CoinDesk publication soon where David discusses having solved the ‘WorldCoin privacy problem’ using cMixx+
  • More talk of the recent reorganisation of the Foundation, consolidating services and the exchange strategy; the problems with CEX’s, plus the situation borne of intentionally not attracting VCs from the outset.
  • Jim reiterating that the intention to restart the Haven project is still there, as soon as there is funding, so Echoexx is not a replacement for it (though still expected in Alpha soon).
