The XX Network African community have been extremely busy since the inception of their telegram group with various promotional initiatives. As well as nurturing the growth of their community with competitions and creative campaigns, they recently announced their first ‘offline’ event which took place at the E3 Events and Banquets Centre in the Tropicana Mall in Uyo, Nigeria.
The Web 3 Summit, themed “Revolutionizing Privacy and Data Security in the Crypto World,” was on July 26th, 2024, at 12:00 WAT (UTC+1).

I spoke to community leader Ekemodel Ekpeowo (who also goes by Kerry) about what the event was all about.
He said that the summit featured top African Web 3 enthusiasts, influencers, and founders as speakers. With over 100 attendees expected from various university campuses and crypto institutions across Nigeria, the event promised a vibrant exchange of ideas and innovation.
The event’s schedule went along these lines:
- Opening address and introduction
- Keynote address and speeches
- Panel discussion on the XX Network movement in Africa
- Presentation on how to register and download XX native wallets
- Presentation on David Chaum – historical visionary and the evolution of XX Network
- Networking sessions
- Distribution of swag and other giveaways
